Choosing the Right Promotional Products for Your Business
Coffee mugs, pens, calendars, USB drives and an ever expanding list of promotional products make the possibilities endless. With so many choices it can be difficult to decide what promotional items are right for your organization.
Here are three factors to keep in mind when choosing what promotional products to purchase for the year
1. Figure out what your client would like
One of the most neglected rules in marketing is that it isn’t about you; it is about your customer. When choosing a promotional product think of what your customer would want and find useful. The more the customer likes and finds the promotional product useful, the more likely they are to hang on to it.
Example: Is your customer a busy individual and constantly on the go? Consider a portable phone charger, a travel mug, or a high quality notebook they can use in meetings.
2. Quality vs Quantity
Think quality over quantity when it comes to your brand being put on a product. Choose items that will last and that are perceived as high quality. Everyone likes a free pen, but no one likes a pen that clogs or stops working even if it was free. Buying a large quantity of cheap pens may do your business a disservice and negatively impact you.
3. Make sure your brand is represented
Take the time to make sure your logo is represented correctly on the products you purchase. Find items in colors that fit your brand’s color palette. Make sure that the item you choose represents your brand well and that it is something you and your staff will be excited to give away.
Pro Tip: Consider a four color imprint to make your logo really stand out.
